Norwegian designer, Ida Mari Molander, established her independent jewellery label, IDAMARI, in 2012 with the initiative to create “minimal jewellery with a focus on craftsmanship and unique designs in precious metals”. IDAMARI is all about simple forms combined with technical precision and modern elegance.

The designer obtained a degree in Product Design at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design and shortly after she decided to move to Australia. This move proved to be a significant step in her career and she began to develop ideas for jewellery design, which forms her line today. Since Molander moved to Berlin, she has worked intensively for Uncommon Matters and her own creative label.

The brand perfectly illustrates the values of Scandinavian design, the core of which are high quality materials, attention to detail, emphasis on practicality,

and innovation. The Norwegian designer introduced her geometrical A/W 14 collection, titled OR, at the Capsule women’s show during the Paris Fashion Week 2014. The collection was inspired by the designer’s childhood spent in the Northern Norway, from frozen lakes to snow crystals and other natural wonders.

Indisputably, modernism and minimalism are the main points of interest for the designer; this is thus echoed through the shapes of her sleek and graphic jewellery. Molander’s timeless design concept allows her to hit a happy medium between the low and high market jewellery lines. One finds that IDAMARI offers modern jewellery that does not make compromises between high quality and accessibility.
