During Market Art Fair 2016, COS designed an uniquely built social meeting space, Scenery, on the two terraces of the fair overlooking the city of Stockholm. The fair showcased contemporary art from a selection of leading Nordic galleries to visitors from around the world. The structures were designed for visitors to reflect upon the art, enjoy talks by Omar Kholeif Manilow, Senior Curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, and Manuel Segade, Director of CA2M in Madrid, whilst taking in the view of the city.

Referring to Scandinavian architectural traditions, the Scenery spaces consisted of conceptual wooden structures with a clean functional design. Within the Scenery space COS presented white t-shirts that remain at the core of the Spring/Summer 2016 collection in both classic and new forms for men and women. Inspired by the collection, denim is also celebrated for its functionality and has been given a new purpose when used for seating.

Jun-Hi Nordling and Elin Hagström from Market Art Fair add, ‘The collaboration between COS x Market Art Fair is a great and energizing contribution to the Nordic cultural scene and significant for the continuous progress of developing meaningful synergies between the two fields.’
